Bursary Fund Application Form 2022-2023
PLEASE COMPLETE ALL FIELDS AND ENSURE THAT YOU READ ALL STATEMENTS
To qualify you must be aged 16 or over and under 19 on 31 August 2022 and meet the ESFA’s residency criteria. The bursary is paid to enable you to attend Education with us and will only be paid if your attendance and behaviour meet the required standards. Evidence of attendance must also be completed to enable you to receive bursary payments.
Vulnerable Bursary Criteria
To qualify you must answer Yes to at least one of the three questions below and produce the required evidence as stated.
Although the above are the defined criteria that a student must meet in order to be eligible to claim Vulnerable Bursary, there is no guarantee that a student meeting them will receive funding. Each application is subject to a financial assessment and awards are determined on a case-by-case basis, meaning some students may receive a limited award or in some cases no award at all.
Discretionary Bursary Criteria
Your household income is one of the criteria which will help us to assess your application. Please tick the appropriate box below to show your TOTAL Household income. Any total exceeding £28,000 per annum means you will not be eligible for a Bursary payment.
If the right-hand column of the table above is answered NO for any household member, and evidence of the income they are in receipt of (wage slips, benefit awards, TCAN notices etc.) is not attached at all, this application for Bursary funds cannot be accepted.
Free meals are targeted at disadvantaged students. For the purposes of eligibility for free meals, ‘disadvantage’ is defined by the student being in receipt of, or having parents who are in receipt of, one or more of the following benefits?
- Income support
- Income based Jobseekers Allowance
- Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Support under part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit) and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190, as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
- Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit.
- Universal Credit with net earnings not exceeding the equivalent of £7,400 p.a
Please provide your bank details below, as printed on your bank card or statement.
Bursary payments will be paid either directly into Students’ bank accounts (by BACS), in cash or ‘in kind’ i.e. (by purchasing any equipment required or providing the student with a voucher for Free Meals).
Support Requested from Bursary Funds - Travel
Support Requested from Bursary Funds - Kit and/or Equipment
Please detail in the rows below, any equipment or kit that you will require in order to be able to complete your qualification. Please bear in mind that Bursary funds are solely intended to provide suitable equipment and/or kit in order to allow you to participate in necessary class activities; funds will therefore be limited and will not cover the full cost of higher end brands.
