Dermal Filler Aftercare

  • After treatment there may be a slight swelling, redness and tenderness, bruising also an itchiness sensation the treated area.
  • This is a normal result of the product/injection - the inconvenience is temporary and generally resolves in a day or two.
  • If you are having a lip enhancement the initial swelling can last a little longer with the full healing process taking up to 14 days after the initial treatment. An ice pack can be used to resolve any swelling.
  • Avoid touching the area for 24 hours and treat it as an open wound.
  • Avoid any make up, sauna, steam room, sunbeams for 24 hours and do not expose to extreme heat or extreme cold.
  • If you have previously suffered from facial herpes, there is a risk that the injections could contribute to another eruption of herpes (facial cold sores).
  • If you are using aspirin or any similar medication, be aware that this may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site. If bruising is present arnica herbal remedy cream can be applied 24 hours after treatment.
  • Dermal filler is a hyaluronic acid-based product that breaks down within the body and the lasting aspect varies from client to client. Many clients choose to be treated again within 6 months of the original treatment.
